Rebateful
Terms of use
Draft for review. The [bracketed] items still need filling in, and every claim here must match the shipped app. Turn off “Show draft notice” in Site settings when it is final.
These terms apply to the Rebateful app and this website. By using the app you agree to them. Rebateful is published by Sensimity by the RO Brand, [address], Leusden, the Netherlands ([Chamber of Commerce number]).
What Rebateful does
Rebateful reads the sales tax on receipts from shopping abroad and keeps it in a fund for that country, in that country's currency. You can spend a fund at partner duty-free shops in that country's airports. A fund is not a bank account, cannot be paid out in cash and cannot be transferred to someone else.
Your receipts
- Only claim receipts for purchases you made yourself, with a card whose last 4 digits you have added to the app.
- Each receipt can be claimed once. We check every claim, and may put a claim on hold for review or refuse it if the numbers don't add up or the receipt has already been used.
- If a purchase is refunded, the tax on it may be taken back out of your fund.
How long tax can be spent
The tax from each receipt can be spent for 3 months from when it was added. When you spend, the oldest tax is used first. Tax that is not spent in time expires and cannot be recovered. We send reminders, but it is up to you to use your fund in time.
Spending at duty free
Show the code in the app at a partner's till. The code renews every 60 seconds and works once. If your purchase costs more than your fund, you pay the rest yourself. Partner shops are responsible for the goods they sell you, their prices and their own returns policies.
Your phone is your key
Your funds are linked to your phone, not to an account. If you delete the app, reset or lose your phone, your funds may not be recoverable. [Describe any recovery option.]
Fair use
Don't edit receipts, claim other people's receipts, or try to get around the app's checks. We may freeze or cancel funds that come from misuse.
Changes and availability
We may change the app, the partner shops and these terms. We aim to keep the app available but can't promise it always will be. We may stop the service with [notice period] notice; you can spend what is in your funds until then.
Liability
[Limitation of liability, to be written with a lawyer.]
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction]. Questions or complaints go to money@rebateful.net.
